The current version of Iwatsu Programmer is unable to access the license server due to a DNS change made by Iwatsu Electric in Japan.
This page describes a configuration change to remedy this issue and restore licensing functionality to Iwatsu Programmer.
Iwatsu Programmer (a.k.a. ICON-VN Programmer) is installed in the default location
The technician has Administrator access to their Windows PC
(1) : Close Iwatsu Programmer if it is open
(2) : In File Explorer, browse to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\ICON Voice Networks\ICON-VN Programmer for ECS
(3) : Make a backup copy of file: Programmer.exe.config
You will need Administrator access to make a copy in that directory.
(4) : Edit Programmer.exe.config using Notepad or another text editor (e.g. Notepad++)
Use a text editor. Do not use Word.
You will need to Run Notepad as Administrator in order to make changes. If you can't right-click in File Explorer and 'Run as administrator', try doing it from the Start menu and then open Programmer.exe.config from within Notepad.
(Start > Windows Accessories > Notepad, right click, More > Run as administrator)
(5) : Line 27 should contain:
<LicenseServer Url="http://licensing.iwatsu.com:8338/LicenseService.asmx" InHouseUrl="http://iai-ecm1:8338/LicenseService.asmx" />
In the Url attribute, change licensing.iwatsu.com to licensing.iconvn.com
INTERNAL NOTE: If always running inside ICON's network, change licensing.iwatsu.com to 10.247.0.95
(6) : Save the file and close Notepad.
(7) : Open the Programmer, go to Tools > ICON Licensing > Lookup License Keys...
(8) : You should see a dialog allowing you to enter an Account Number and CCSU Serial
(9) : Enter a valid account number and a serial number for a system know to have licenses. Click Lookup License Keys.
(10) : If you get a list of license keys, it's working correctly.
